I Have A Hammer. Or 3
Do you ever lament that you'll *never* get that card (vintage or otherwise) because you don't want to spend X on a single card? Welcome to the club. And yet I look around and notice how many cards (particularly inserts) I buy for a couple of bucks each- cards that, if I’m being honest with myself, my collection could do without. Buyers remorse settles in and I realize I could have saved that money to go towards those old Aaron cards I need.
But not every $2 insert card falls into that heap of regret, and three such cards from 2023 Topps Heritage arrived in the mail last week, all from an eBay seller. I’ll never regret the money spent on these.
Unlike the tribute insert sets found in Series 1, Series 2 and Update, which tend to be bloated, the ones found in Heritage are perfectly sized. So at ten cards and a great-looking design, The Hammer immediately entered my Must-Have list upon release.
After adding these three, my collection now stands at 6 out of the 10. And my goodness: they're gonna look so sweet side-by-side in that binder page.
You've doubled your inserts with that purchase and good luck on your chase to get the last four. The buyer's remorse thing is why I stopped buying packs or "blasters" or whatever they are called now because though I enjoy opening packs (I don't "rip" as I find that term stupid), I do not get anything out of the experience other than TCDB trade bait which can be hit and miss anyway... Can't wait to see the completed page.
ReplyDeleteI miss buying a box here and there- not to mention the occasional pack. Rarely are able to get the 'value' back in trades etc. I guess you have to think of it as 'entertainment' money. With Heritage releasing today, I thought how nice it would be to buy a box; saw the price and that knocked sense into me.
