December... or March?

We've had some really nice weather the past week-plus here in southwest Idaho. Today, however, the wind blew like you would expect it to this time of year. Mother Nature must have looked at the calendar and decided to send us the Winds of March now that we're out of February. But at least the sun is shining and I have two PWE's from today's mail to open.

The first thing I noticed after opening the two PWE's was that there seemed to be a winter theme in each. Envelope number one was actually a Christmas/Holiday-themed card with the word "Joy" on the front (with a bird and wreath) and "It's a wonderful time of year" on the inside. If you want to get philosophical about it, I suppose the joy could be referring to the feeling the contents bring to a collector. And yes, with baseball games now taking place, it is much better than having no baseball. Anyway, it contained a total of five cards from a trade with TCDB user Hershey, whom I had sent three 2002 Post Cereal cards. Those three cards had been sitting in my For Trade/Sale list for quite some time, with no takers, so I was thrilled to move them for replacements for my 1982 and 1985 team sets. Thanks again to Brian for the trade.

Envelope number two was from an eBay purchase last week. I don't recall ever seeing this card when it was offered to the public on the Topps website, and had to get it once I saw it on the 'Bay. A much better look, imo, than the black and white Score Dream Card that featured the former Braves Ace on the ice. That is a nice looking card, no doubt, but the white border, red on the uniform and hat, and red lettering just take this one to a whole other level.
