Christmas in March

Everyone has heard of Christmas in July but to be honest, I never knew the story behind the "celebration" (if you can call it that) until Googling it. And even then, I didn't bother spending much time researching.  I have more important things to consider- not to mention, celebrate- than some make believe holiday. Like baseball. And baseball cards.

But just because I have "Bah humbug" vibes going on here, doesn't mean that I'm a modern-day Scrooge. In fact, as you will see soon enough, I'm far from The Grinch.

Saturday's mail included the Acuna Gingerbread Box Topper. When I bought the card, I didn't realize it was an 'oversized' card. And had I known prior to the purchase, I'm not so sure I would have bought it. Oh well, it's a cool looking piece that will have a place on the bookshelf once the holidays roll around.

Keeping in the spirit, I also purchased two of the Stocking Ornament Cards, both of which arrived in today's mail. Hanging from the tree next December is certainly not an option (fear of damage; my wife probably wouldn't object), so I guess I'll just hang them by the chimney with care. Wait, we don't have a chimney. Okay, so I'll display them on the bookcase, right next to their buddy Ronnie.

But for now they'll just go into a binder on the shelf, where they can stay nice and warm. With spring just around the corner, I don't need anything to remind me of the cold harsh realities of winter.
